NEW ANNOUCEMENT FOR TEACHERS REGARDING SUMMER 2008 M.A. IN EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY Marist College piloted its state of the art e-learning environment, the Greystone Educational Environment, with the Poughkeepsie School System in September, 2003. In September, 2004, the pilot was expanded to include the Highland School System. Since then, Newburgh, Wallkill, Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Pine Plains, Marlboro, Northern Dutches Christian School, All Hallows, John S. Burke Catholic School, Carmel Central, Kingston, Spackenkill, Hyde Park, Minisink Valley, Pawling and Syracuse City schools have joined the Consortium. In addition to the traditional services of email, chat, discussion groups and web servers, the Greystone environment includes best practices educational modules for students and teachers including access to the college's extensive digital repository. The Greystone program offers college level courses through an online bridge program as well as a hybrid certification and degree bearing program in educational psychology at a significantly reduced rate to program participants. In the future, Marist College plans to make the Greystone environment available as a service provider to K-12 schools across the country. |
